The Fabulous Feta-phone, renowned for its cheesy tone. The neck is carved from some left-over mahogany and I turned the pegs from some cherry scrap. The strings are weed-whacker cord (available in 4 guages) and the scale length is the same as as a standard 3/4 bass, and with an extension on the stick it plays in about the same position. Perfect for the beach, or picnics when rain is a possibility. It has a snap-on back with a microphone attached so it can be amplified. For a few years it was my only acoustic bass, and I even performed paying gigs with it.
